Prison Blues | SBTG
Recently we gave you guys a sneak peek of the latest SBTG custom [click here for post]; entitled Prison Blues, but today we bring you the full story. In an attempt to fill the eighth and final space in the locker for the Varsity Bones series of dunks, SBTG has managed to thread through his theme of fictitious teams and ghost colleges but with a slight twist on this final dunk. Creating a fictitious prison called Folsom Prison and drawing inspiration from the Johnny Cash song, “Folsom Prison Blues”. As Johnny Cash was as much a performer in the prisons as the basketball players were on the courts.
The prison theme is quite apparent throughout the entire shoe with the blue and white stripes reminding us of a prison overalls, train tracks lining the zippered closure as the only escape route from prison and lyrics from the Johnny Cash song plastered on the Nike swoosh. Coupled with excellent craftsmanship and intricate detailing, this shoe is top notch. A low cut version is currently in production as we speak so stay tuned for more info. Scope more pictures of this sick looking custom after the jump.
Prison Blues will be launching on the 9th of August via the Royalefam website.
