To The Nines
Tucked right in the spanking new shopping mall, Orchard Central, To The Nines. It opened just a couple of weeks back and we received a calling on the impressive brands they carry. The multi-label concept store thrives on the belief that fashion is all about self-expression, individualism and adventure. Believing that many gems in the region are still yet to be discovered, To The Nines showcases brands from independent and local designers. Among the labels they carry, are local brands like Elohim by Sabrina Goh and Reckless Ericka, and Jakarta-based clothing line Oneandahalf, whom To The Nines is the exclusive stockist in Singapore.

Oneandahalf
Previewed here recently, Asian designer Nina Nikicio’s second line, Oneandahalf, will be stocked exclusively with the store. Nikicio’s younger, more experimental and affordable line stands out in its brand concept – multiple use for clothing that can be detached, attached, draped, and twisted.

The “euro-centric” label consists of a team of 4 – Afton Chen, Diorelle Sy, Ruth Marbun and Louis Koh. The label encompasses the whole spirit of the co-founders as risk-taking, fun-loving and adventurous. Unconventional and off-beat as it sounds, it is in line with the brand’s personality. They focus on balancing classic tailoring with edgy use of silhouette and colours, and constructing avant-garde silhouettes with classic details. This infuses edginess and quirkiness into their brand, giving it their very own refreshing identity.
ELOHIM, meaning Jehovah, God of Creative, is the works of the Malaysian born, Singapore based designer, Sabrina Goh who graduated from La Salle. Inspired by structured, forms, androgynous, symmetrical and asymmetrical combination of designs, men and women’s wear find their intersection in her collection that plays with colors, cutting, textures, details and silhouette.
