With ‘The Ultimate Start-up Space’, the brand invites enterprising individuals to think beyond their cubicles and submit their most innovative business ideas. The Ultimate Start-up Space online business challenge ends on 12 February 2010

Taking on the role of a ‘dreams incubator’, Martell VSOP will be providing the top 10 finalists with training from industry leaders, arming them with knowledge essential to run a viable business with the help of strategic support from Official Partners INSEAD and Standard Chartered Bank. INSEAD, the Business School for the World, will be providing business training for the top 10 finalists. Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore, one of the world’s largest international banks, will provide the top 10 finalists with entrepreneurship coaching, as well as offer, to anyone who enters the contest, consultation and advisory on financial planning tailored based on the budding entrepreneur’s business needs. The ultimate winner, the Martell Rising Personality 2010, will also receive training in an INSEAD Executive Education programme.

In doing so, Martell VSOP hopes to bring a talented individual one step closer to his or her dream by providing the invaluable opportunity to experience the building of a business from a mere dream into a reality.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of experts and the winning idea will be selected based on originality, ingenuity and potential to succeed. The ultimate winner will be granted the definitive start-up space in Clarke Quay, one of central Singapore’s most vibrant districts, rent-free for a period of six months and a funding of S$20,000 to live out the dream.

From 1 December 2009 to 12 February 2010, aspiring business owners can submit their greatest and most innovative ideas to Martell VSOP via a 60-second video application at www.ultimatestartupspace.com.sg. The winner of ‘The Ultimate Start-up Space’ will be unveiled in March 2010.

During the submission period, Martell VSOP will also be inviting members of the public to rate the submitted ideas. To reward the public for their efforts, two lucky winners will each win a HP Mini PC worth S$600.

The campaign’s commitment to furthering the entrepreneurship spirit in Singapore also has the support of Start-Up@Singapore. As Singapore’s most established business plan competition, they were intrigued by the possibility that The Ultimate Start-Up Space can transform the ideas of one of their contestants to reality immediately.
