Martell plays host to the second installation of ICON de Martell Cordon Bleu Profile Exhibition, in appreciation of the artistic achievements of photographers in Singapore. This year’s public profile exhibition showcases the crème de la crème of Singapore’s arts and photography society. The eight nominees this year include: John Clang, Ang Song Nian, Zhao Renhui, Tay Wei Leng, Sean Lee, Genevieve Chua, Wee Kheng Li and Chua Chye Teck, all of whom have held exhibitions both locally and internationally.

Three finalists will be identified by a distinguished jury of prominent local and international figures to receive the ICON de Martell Cordon Bleu Award 2011 and profile their work during the Month of Photography Asia, an international festival of photography organised in Singapore.

The winner will receive $30,000 in prize money in addition to an all-expense paid trip to Cognac, France. Not forgetting, they will have their art book published by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) where sales proceeds will go towards a fund for NAFA’s photography students. The other two finalists will each receive $8,000 in recognition for their talents.

This year’s prominent judges include Simon Bainbridge, Editor of the British Journal of Photography, the world’s longest running photography magazine; Agnes de Gouvion Saint-Cyr, an independent photography curator from France; Kwok Kian Chow, Director of The National Art Gallery Singapore; Bridget Tracy Tan, Director of the Institute of Southeast Asian Arts and Art Galleries, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts; and Paul-Robert Bouhier, Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Singapore.

Meanwhile browse through the impressive works from last year’s nominees and catch the end products from the contenders this year at Millennia Walk from 12 – 22 May.

The winner of ICON de Martell Cordon Bleu 2011 will be announced in June.

Millennia Walk is located at 9 Raffles Boulevard (Nearest MRT station: Promenade Station).
