This February, H&M will receive the highly-anticipated men’s bodywear line by David Beckham’s in-house team. David Beckham Bodyline for H&M presents nine key products in their most basic form to highlight the quality of the design. Styles include four underpant styles – briefs, trunks, boxer briefs and woven boxers; three tops – David’s perfect T-shirt, vest and Henley and then two bodywear styles.

This line was conceived after 18 months of research and development, to set a new standard in men’s bodywear for the 21st century. Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Head of Design, added, “with so much attention paid to the function and quality of the garments,” this is a collection full of pieces that men will love.

The collection is a first in a long-term partnership with H&M, which will seasonally develop with new styles, new fabrics and new patterns which will all follow the quality-focused blueprint of David’s new classics. Available from 2 Feb 2012.

When he was just 15, author of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson witnessed the gang rape of a young girl and was never able to forgive himself. This resulted in his recurring theme of sexual violence against women in his novels that became overnight best-sellers. As we await the release of the year’s highly anticipated film by David Fincher based on Stieg Larsson’s novel, H&M will occupy us with a 30 piece collection inspired by the film’s anti-heroine, Lisbeth Salander. Costume designer for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Trish Summerville, captures the essence and strength of Lisbeth’s character with dark urban leather jackets and trousers, torn jeans and slouchy hoodies. The collection is held together with the industrial shades of grey, worn white and dark red; together with tough rugged finishes such as diagonal zips, slashed denim, paint splashes and scrolled letterings. Trish’s eye for detail is undeniable, and so is lure of the collection that will define the streets this Christmas.

H&M Women’s collection for Spring Summer 2012 covers every inch of versatility in a woman’s personal style. From a sharp white suit as a key statement, to kimono-style draped jackets and wrap dresses, the collection is a coherent mix of modern tailoring and romantic femininity.

H&M’s head of design, Ann-Sofie Johansson added that “new fabrics play an important part this season and add newness to already known shapes,” certainly getting our nods particularly in the use of more luxurious fabrics.

What looks like three animals in action is really a relationship of complexities between three main houses in the highly-rated HBO TV series, Game of Thrones. Winner of the October 2011 T-shirt Contest Benjamin Chee won over the 9 Fountains community with his stylized sketch titled The Wolf, the Lion and the Deer – the wolf protecting the stag from lion. Joining Benjamin in the Top 3 is Jason Angeles with his well-composed collage of life-like jellyfish arranged in the shape of an ace. Take a closer look at the Jelly Ace t-shirt and you will notice the attempt to create various shapes and depths of the spineless free-swimming creatures. Cate Jose came in  as a second-runner up with her submission of an owl incorporated into a nocturnal landscape. Completing the October 2011 9 Fountains Collection are Classic, Chef Guevara, Just in Case, Robocorpse and The Black Balloon.

9 Fountains holds a t-shirt design competition every month to provide a platform for artists in the region to showcase their design chops, adding accolades to their portfolios.
