The hottest chill out spot in Singapore is celebrating its 1st anniversary this Saturday, and you need to be there for that. Ceriph began as a non-profit project between three local undergraduates that noticed friends and acquaintances creating poetry, prose, and photography that deserved to be shared. Thus began a search for a space in print that was accessible to non-professional Singaporean writers, that was neither too formal nor flippant. Ceriph’s book launch will be held at BooksActually tomorrow, at 7.30pm. Four amazing bikes make up Vanguard Designs March Collection. Drawing inspiration from bikes of old, these four new releases include the Alexandria Messenger Bike which is a redesigned 1960s Raleigh Bike, the Bubble Messenger Bike from the 1950s, the Gabriela – a rare 1950s Bianchi, and the Sempe which is a restored 1970s Elswick Hopper. From the creators of Actually and Very Wooonderland spawns Actually Actually – another new and exciting multi-label fashion concept boutique in Singapore. The store spans two levels, both of which are visually stimulating, inspired by an alternate dimension and a refraction of timeless imagery. The second floor hosts apparel, whilst a level above is catered specifically for some amazing footwear. The brands carried here include Rokin, Complex Geometries, NUDE, Christophe Lemair, Pleasure Principle and Damir Doma’s new line called Silent amongst others – interesting threads unfamiliar to Singapore territory, which makes that all the more exciting.

ActuallyActually’s new name stems from the fact that the store is now twice the boutique size, and naturally twice the appeal. The store opens to the public today.

James Lavelle and Kai & Sunny, the brainchilds behind UNKLE, Surrenderous and Call Of The Wild respectively, have created a series of t-shirts as well as a CD pack. Dubbed “The Angel Collection”, there are three different tees in the series, each featuring an abstract, post-modern graphic that are synonymous with Call Of The Wild, all of which will be available in black or white. The CD cover states “Surrenderous V Call Of The Wild” and will feature Surrenderous sounds. Both the t-shirts and the CD pack will be available in Singapore at Surrender soon.

The (NIKE)RED ball is a specially designed T90 Ascente – the same make of ball currently used by all three leagues and boasts all of the technological innovations that the players are accustomed to week in week out, but features the (RED) laces graphic on the exterior. Phuture was buzzing last Friday for its 14th Anniversary themed “We are the Night”. In line with the celebrations, a Best Dressed competition was held, with the winners walking away with prizes of DJ Hero and goodies from multi-label streetwear boutique Carbon4. In celebration of a new pro model to the lineup as well as Omar Salazar’s first signature model under Nike, Nike SB has created a cool little micro site for the skater and his new shoe. The site features an advertisement video of sorts – starring none other than Omar himself. Check out the video below, as well as the  microsite here.

Nike SB’s latest Pro Model belongs to skateboarding team rider Omar Salazar. The Zoom Omar Salazars looks more like a traditional skate shoe than some of the other SB models of the past with hints of it being an amalgamated version of the Nike SB Harbour. A first for Nike SB is the implementation of Nike’s Flywire technology in this shoe, making the shoe lighter and highly geared for performance. The Salazars come in two colorways of black and white (with purple accents) and red and white (with black accents) and are now available at Nike SB account holder Limited Edt 2.

Feiyue is back with its Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. Since being under the control of a French trio with love for kicks, art and design, the brand has catapulted its way back into popularity in the past few years, flying foward (the english translation of Feiyue) towards greater heights. And it’s the very same translation that has led the brand to collaborate with creative designer Frederique Daubal on two pairs of sneakers – The Blue Wing and Suede Holes. The “Blue Wing” is a reference to old school exercise books which has been ‘personalized’ with a print of ballpoint pen graffiti. The “Suede Holes” collaboration steers Feiyue in a new direction, with the coupling of suede and an elegant woven finish.  The result is one hot looking sneaker, that doesn’t compromise on comfort.  As a freelance creative designer, Frederique Daubal has produced work for Colette Paris, Paul Smith, Wieden + Kennedy and Beams Japan.

These Feiyue and Daubal collaboration sneakers are now available at Leftfoot boutiques across the island.

Local sculpting guru Phu has unveiled his latest custom – for the BIC Buddy Custom Show 2010 which will be held in New York and Los Angeles later this month. Staying true to his signature style, the customized BIC Buddy figure gets a futuristic military makeover – a hover cruiser, that comes complete with one of Phu’s 3 inch rebel pilots of course. Phuture celebrated its 14th Anniversary last Friday to much fanfare and applause with a theme entitled “We Are The Night“, check out our previous feature here. Phuture’s decor was dressed to glow with dancing “Maskots”, coupled with urban beats by Phuture Resident DJ Andrew Chow to get the crowd pumping. More info and pics from the party below.
